Children “learn with friends” through an innovative and research-based Spanish immersion program for potty-trained children three to five years of age.
We chose Aprende because we believe in the educators at the school. Spanish Immersion has been a blessing for our eldest boy and we can't wait to get our 2-year-old enrolled next year!Adam ShearerParent
We are incredibly grateful for the positive and impactful learning environment Aprende offered our daughter.Mary CrowParent
My second kid just started at Aprende Con Amigos, and it's good to be back. Everyone there is so good at what they do, and their educational approach seems to work with all kinds of kids. Even if I didn't care about my kids learning Spanish, I'd send them here.Nate Q.Parent
Spanish Immersion Preschool
Spanish Immersion Education
Our teaching approach at Aprende con Amigos, is driven by a variety of research, teaching experience and theories, but Gardner’s theory of Multiple Intelligences is embedded in all we do. His theory identifies seven intelligences including: linguistic, logical-mathematical, musical, bodily-kinesthetic, spatial, interpersonal, and intrapersonal. Although most schools only value the first two, we value them all and provide a learning environment that utilizes a variety of educational philosophies, methods and strategies to support Gardner’s theory.
Our curriculum approach implements the research-based philosophy that learning in depth about a student chosen topic is more meaningful, memorable and effective than a teacher-chosen curriculum focused on a breadth of topics. We begin each semester with a “Big Idea” and allow our students’ interests to drive our curriculum. It is our hope that students are enrolled in our program for two years. The first year is social studies based and the second year is science based.
Loaded With Power
Our students’ ability to learn about topics in depth encourages collaborative project work, problem solving, exploration, and discovery learning through hands-on experiences. A student-driven curriculum is exciting, allows children to use their background knowledge and taps into children’s natural curiosity and sense of wonder about the world thereby making Spanish acquisition easy, comfortable, and effective.
Spanish Language Acquisition
We implement a research-based 90/10 model where 90% of the day is spoken in Spanish and 10% is spoken in English. This method makes certain students have opportunities to be exposed to Spanish in all academic areas to ensure language and content objectives are met. In addition, each month both conversational and academic vocabulary and speaking goals will be identified and shared with parents and students. These goals will stem from student driven topics related to our “Big Idea”.
Spanish Immersion Preschool Goals
Children will meet monthly language goals through an active learning environment where students learn Spanish through fun, relevant, and purposeful activities. We understand that goal setting and methodical implementation based on students’ current interests and motivations is the key to successful Spanish language acquisition. We will also improve acquisition by implementing a variety of techniques and strategies to make learning more comprehensible.

As good as it gets for sure! Trust is everything when it comes to preschool choices. After attending the open house for Aprende Con Amigos, we were certain this was the preschool for our daughter. Not only has she gotten great experience with the Spanish language, but she is in a very nurturing, imaginative environment with fantastic people. Cannot say enough great things, we are lucky to have found Aprende Con Amigos.Linda C. - Yelp★ ★ ★ ★ ★
We have had an excellent experience at Aprende Con Amigos. Our son has attended for 2 years and has grown immensely. After 2 years he is starting to communicate in Spanish. The environment is warm and caring. I feel that I have also become a better parent thanks to the journey of learning workshops hosted at the school. I cannot wait to send my younger daughter to Aprende when that time comes!Leah H. - Yelp★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Wonderful preschool! We have sent both of our daughters to Aprende con Amigos and I can't say enough wonderful things about it! We appreciate that our daughters are learning another language and that the academics are stellar, but it's really the love and compassion that the staff has shown our kids that has really mattered the most to us. Warm and welcoming. We know are kids are well cared for while there. Great community too - we've met parents and kids that are still our friends years later!Tess A. - Yelp★ ★ ★ ★ ★
